At Journées des doctorants de l’INL, 2025 (https://inl.cnrs.fr/phd-days-2025/), held in INL, Lyon, from 6th of November to 7th of November 2025, doctoral fellow Ujjal Chettri presented a poster to share his work on “Optical bistability in germanium-based ring resonators in the mid-infrared”. Every year the Institut des Nanotechnologies de Lyon (INL) organizes Journées des doctorants de l’INL, also called as the INL PhD days. This two-day event is dedicated to the research work of the laboratory’s doctoral students. The doctoral students of the end of the first year present their work in the form of posters, and the doctoral students of the end of the second year give oral presentations of 10 minutes followed by questions. Former INL PhD students are also invited to come and present their experiences and post-doctoral journeys to the new generation. PhD days are an opportunity for PhD students to practice scientific communication, to value their work internally, and to benefit from relevant scientific discussions for their projects with other members of the laboratory. These two days also make it possible to find a global and multidisciplinary vision of the research of the INL through the diversity of doctoral projects.
