Haoyang at CLEO Europe 2025

At CLEO Europe 2025, held in Munich, Germany from June 22-27, 2025, doctoral fellow Haoyang Tan presented a poster to share his recent work titled “Flexible Platicon Generation via Random Backscattering in Ultra-high-Q Microresonators”.

CLEO Europe served as a comprehensive and prestigious gathering of optics and photonics experts across Europe. The event featured groundbreaking advancements shared by participants, fostering a vibrant platform for exchanging ideas and knowledge. Haoyang’s work focuses on generating platicons (dark Kerr combs) at different pump wavelengths within the same device, leveraging multiple mode splitting induced by Rayleigh scattering. This approach paves the way for flexible and robust platicon generation, offering new possibilities for advanced microcomb systems in dynamic and versatile environments.
