To achieve these high power outputs, I employ a combination of thin film materials such as rare earths, sapphire, and III-V compounds. These lasers are then heterogeneously integrated into a CMOS-compatible silicon nitride platform, aiming for a significant reduction in Size, Weight, Power, and Cost (SWaP-C).
